If you are out in the wilderness, a high-quality outdoor knife that you can rely on is part of your basic equipment. Such a knife is indispensable not only for camping or trekking. An outdoor knife is also an extremely practical and therefore essential tool for climbing and hiking, as well as for hunting, fishing, and mushroom picking. As a Swiss military shop, we stock a range of different outdoor knives including suitable accessories at an excellent price-performance ratio. In addition to the classic pocket knife, folding and combat knives provide a good selection so that everyone can find the right equipment for their individual needs.

How to find the right outdoor knife in our online shop

In the outdoor knife category, you can choose from a multitude of knives. However, it is precisely this scope of choice that often makes it difficult for many people to find the right knife for them. At Militärshop.ch, we offer the following types of outdoor knives: ✓ Folding knives
✓ Combat knives
✓ Pocket knives
✓ Bayonets
✓ other miscellaneous knives
✓ and suitable accessories Since your knife is one of the most important tools when camping and traveling in nature, it is not always easy to find the most suitable model right away. For this reason, we have compiled some of the essential characteristics that define a good outdoor knife for you. Basically, a bushcraft knife should sit well in the hand and enable precise and, above all, safe work. It is just as helpful for carving or sharpening stakes or removing branches as it is for preparing food or gutting fish. A valuable aid for every occasion, therefore. Furthermore, the outdoor knife must have a sharp blade and remain sharp even after repeated use. Good edge retention and sharpenability are criteria that speak in favor of a good outdoor knife. A secure blade lock not only improves handling but also, in particular, your safety. Workmanship, reliability in sharpness and handling, as well as safety play a decisive role when buying an outdoor knife.

Outdoor knives for beginners – Things to keep in mind

While you can get good knives starting at around CHF 20, there is no upper price limit. Knives that cost CHF 200 or more are not uncommon, but they are not necessarily required for beginners. Especially if you only need your bushcraft knife occasionally or are just starting to explore the subject, you can already buy high-quality outdoor knives for significantly less. Individual factors include, for example, blade length and handle material, weight, and the type of blade lock. The range of functions, as with pocket knives and folding knives (e.g., the presence of a saw back), also differs depending on the area of application. It is important here that the outdoor knife sits securely in your hand and that you can operate it easily. In our online knife shop, you are sure to find the right model for your purpose, whether you are a beginner, a long-time bushcrafter, or an outdoor junkie. By the way, you receive free shipping on purchases of 100 CHF or more. Military personnel also receive free shipping on deliveries to field post addresses.
