What does the SNR value mean?
SNR stands for "Single Number Rating" and refers to the average attenuation of a hearing protector and thus its average protective effect. The SNR value refers to the average attenuation value of the frequency range from 125 to 8,000 Hz, which is relevant to human hearing. For example, an SNR value of 30 dB (30 decibels) reduces a noise level of 100 dB (100 decibels) to a comfortable 70 dB (70 decibels). A hearing protection product should be available from 80 dB (80 decibels) upwards. Long-term exposure to 85 dB (85 decibels) over an extended period (40-hour work week) can cause long-term damage to human hearing.

Important: The higher the noise level, the shorter the duration of exposure should be!
