The 3M™ PELTOR™ SportTac™ is an electronic, level-dependent hearing protector designed specifically for hunting and shooting sports. The SportTac Sport features a foldable headband and two pairs of shells in green and orange. The hearing protector has an insulation value of SNR = 26 dB. The unique digital technology of the SportTac Sport offers dynamic regulation of external sounds: while harmful noise levels are reliably attenuated, ambient sounds can be heard at a normal volume or are even amplified. The smooth level-dependent function prevents abrupt cutting off of the sound. In addition, the SportTac Sport is equipped with an automatic switch-off function and an audio input for external radios. Soft, non-slip sealing rings ensure an optimal fit and high level of comfort. The foldable stainless steel headband is easy to store and carry. The set includes 2 x 1.5 V AAA batteries with a battery life of approx. 600 hours. Suitable hygiene kits (not included) allow for the hygienic and economical use of the 3M™ PELTOR™ SportTac™ Sport.
What does the SNR value mean?
SNR stands for "Single Number Rating" and denotes the average insulation of a hearing protector and thus its average protective effect. The SNR value refers to the average insulation value of the frequency range relevant to human hearing, from 125 to 8,000 Hz. For example, an SNR value of 30 dB (30 decibels) reduces noise pollution of 100 dB (100 decibels) to a comfortable 70 dB (70 decibels). From 80 dB (80 decibels) upwards, hearing protection should be available. Exposure to as little as 85 dB (85 decibels) over a longer period (40-hour work week) can cause long-term damage to human hearing.
Important: The higher the noise level, the shorter the time you should expose yourself to the noise!
