MA-1 - The History:
The classic U.S. Air Force flight jacket for over 50 years. Introduced in the 1950s, the MA-1 immediately established itself as the classic flight jacket of the jet age. It was specially designed for colder climate zones (-5°C). Furthermore, the jacket can be turned inside out so that the Indian Orange lining can be used for better visibility in an emergency. This made it easier for crashed pilots to be located and quickly found by rescue teams. The MA-1 was introduced in 1959 and pilots were equipped with this jacket until 1977. Even Chuck Yeager wore this jacket when he broke the sound barrier. The unique quality is achieved through 57 perfectly coordinated sewing operations in the production of every single Alpha MA-1.
