SOF 2 size L (all-round sleeping bag)

All-round sleeping bag for flexible operational conditions.

The SOF 2 from our "Fast & Light" product series is designed as a versatile all-rounder that meets the demanding requirements of special forces for mobility and adaptability. Equipped with a two-layer, 190g/m² total G-LOFT® insulation, this sleeping bag offers a comfort limit of 0°C and remains reliably usable even near freezing temperatures. With a weight of only 1,139g and a compact pack size of 28x18 cm, the SOF 2 was specifically developed for missions where every gram counts and space in the backpack is critical. The centrally positioned zipper of the SOF 2 prevents cold spots when combined with the other models in the series, SOF 1 and SOF 3, in order to cover a wide temperature range. The SOF 2 scores points with its efficient thermal performance. Furthermore, it features large, free-running zippers that allow for a quick exit. The innovative color coding with patch areas is also used here, facilitating the quick identification and selection of the correct sleeping bag during operations. Included in the delivery are a matching stuff sack and a storage net to simplify storage. The close-fitting mummy cut optimizes thermal efficiency while minimizing the required volume, making the SOF 2 an ideal mid-range sleeping bag. It not only offers excellent sleeping comfort in common temperature ranges but also, with the expandability through the SOF 1+3 models, an extremely high degree of flexibility to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.

Temperature ratings

Comf. Limit M: +0.0°C

Carinthia sleeping bags are tested in a closed system according to EN13537 in an independent institute. The temperature ratings are determined accordingly.

When purchasing a sleeping bag, the Comfort Limit temperature should always serve as a guideline.

Comf. F: This value is calculated for a “standard woman” (25 years, 60 kg, 1.60 m) who is just not feeling cold.
Comf. Limit M: This value is calculated for a “standard man” (25 years, 70 kg, 1.73 m) who is just not feeling cold.
Extreme: This value is calculated for a “standard woman” (25 years, 60 kg, 1.60 m) under severe cold stress. There is an increased risk of hypothermia here.
