SOF 2 size M (all-round sleeping bag)

All-round sleeping bag for flexible operational conditions.

The SOF 2 from our "Fast & Light" product series is designed as a versatile all-rounder that meets the demanding requirements of special forces for mobility and adaptability. Equipped with a two-layer, 190g/m² total G-LOFT® insulation, this sleeping bag offers a comfort limit of 0°C and remains reliably functional even near freezing point. With a weight of only 1,139g and a compact pack size of 28x18 cm, the SOF 2 was specifically developed for missions where every gram counts and backpack space is critical. The centrally positioned zipper of the SOF 2 prevents cold bridges when combined with other models in the series, SOF 1 and SOF 3, to cover a broad temperature range. The SOF 2 scores with its efficient thermal performance. In addition, it offers large, free-running zippers that allow for a quick exit. The innovative color coding with patch areas is also used here, facilitating the quick identification and selection of the right sleeping bag during operations. Included in the delivery are a matching stuff sack and a storage bag to simplify storage. The body-hugging mummy cut optimizes thermal efficiency while minimizing the required volume, making the SOF 2 an ideal mid-range sleeping bag. It not only offers excellent sleeping comfort in common temperature ranges but also extremely high flexibility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances through expandability with the SOF 1+3 models.

Temperature ratings

Comf. Limit M: +0.0°C

Carinthia sleeping bags are tested in a closed system according to EN13537 at an independent institute. This is how the temperature ratings are determined.

When purchasing a sleeping bag, the comfort temperature (Comf. Limit) should always serve as a guide.

Comf. F: This value is calculated for a “standard woman” (25 years, 60 kg, 1.60 m) who is just not feeling cold.
Comf. Limit M: This value is calculated for a “standard man” (25 years, 70 kg, 1.73 m) who is just not feeling cold.
Extreme: This value is calculated for a “standard woman” (25 years, 60 kg, 1.60 m) under extreme cold stress. There is an increased risk of hypothermia here.
