SOF 3 size M (sleeping bag)

The warmest sleeping bag for extreme conditions in our "Fast & Light" series.

The SOF 3 offers unparalleled warmth and protection even in extreme weather conditions. Specially developed for use where reliability in harsh weather is required, whether for military operations or demanding outdoor adventures, the SOF 3 is the first choice for extreme cold. Equipped with three layers of 85g/m² G-LOFT® insulation, totaling 275g/m², this sleeping bag ensures excellent thermal properties with a comfort limit of -8.0°C. Even at extreme temperatures down to -26.0°C, the SOF 3 provides reliable protection. Despite its impressive insulating ability, the SOF 3 remains manageable with a pack size of 19x25 cm and a weight of 1969g, making it easy to transport and store. The two-way zipper, equipped with large, user-friendly pull tabs and anti-snag tape, prevents the zipper from catching and facilitates handling.
The "Fast & Light" series was developed with the increasingly large and heavy equipment of special forces in mind. With a focus on weight and space savings, the sleeping bags in the series allow special forces to adapt to unpredictable mission durations – from a few hours to several days. Thanks to the innovative color-coding system, where patch areas serve for quick identification, the sleeping bags can be selected rapidly when needed. These patch areas can also be used in units for name or ID tags. As part of the "Fast & Light" series, the SOF 3 is perfectly compatible with the other models to allow comprehensive coverage of a wide range of temperature zones. This modular system offers not only individual adaptability but also the security of being optimally equipped for every mission.

Temperature ratings

Comf. Limit M: -8.0°C

Carinthia sleeping bags are tested in a closed system according to EN13537 at an independent institute. The temperature ratings are determined in this process.

When purchasing a sleeping bag, the Comfort Limit (Comf. Limit) should always serve as a guide.

Comf. F: This value is calculated for a “standard woman” (25 years, 60 kg, 1.60 m) who is just not shivering.
Comf. Limit M: This value is calculated for a “standard man” (25 years, 70 kg, 1.73 m) who is just not shivering.
Extreme: This value is calculated for a “standard woman” (25 years, 60 kg, 1.60 m) under high cold stress. Here, there is an increased risk of hypothermia.
