AquaTec by Hydracell – the emergency flashlight!

Hydracell's AquaTac is the compact, eco-friendly aluminum LED flashlight that runs on water-activated HC1D energy cells. These are small energy cells that use hydrogen and oxygen to release electrons through an electrochemical reaction, which are then converted into usable energy. HC1D energy cells have a far longer runtime and shelf life than leading conventional alkaline disposable batteries. Biodegradable components and a recyclable plastic housing make the HC1D energy cell the better choice for a smarter, cleaner, and more sustainable future.

The AquaTac flashlight from Hydracell uses these very HC1D energy cells to generate light. The bright, long-lasting Cree LED provides an intense beam of light in flashlight mode. The infinitely adjustable lens allows for both a focused light beam and a wider light cone. In addition to its classic use as a flashlight, the AquaTec can also be used as a lantern, as there is a 360° LED light ring on the lamp head. Overall, the lamp is convincing due to its extreme versatility, sustainability, and high quality. Thanks to the extremely long shelf life of the energy cell, its simple activation, and long runtime, the AquaTec is particularly suitable for emergencies, although it can of course also be used for everyday use.

Hydracell Technology – Activation and handling of the TC1D energy cell
To activate the energy cell, simply submerge it in water for 10-15 seconds. The electrochemical reaction starts immediately and the cell is ready for use. Once initially activated, Hydracell energy cells remain under voltage and are available at any time, requiring only occasional re-activation for continued use. According to the manufacturer, one energy cell should provide a total of up to 60 hours of light. If the energy cells are sealed and stored dry, they can be kept for over 25 years without any loss of energy.

In emergencies, Hydracell energy cells can be activated and re-activated in any type of non-oil-based liquid (rain, stream, sea, tap, and even dirty water).
