Suitable for the sea or the mountains! Sailing, mountain sports, canyoning, caving, trekking, paragliding...

The knife has a very durable 2.5 mm thick blade. It features a 3.5 cm long serrated section, which is very practical for cutting natural or synthetic ropes. It also has a shackle key for shackles from 4 to 10 mm. The handle is resistant to water and extreme temperatures, and it is also equipped with a survival whistle that works in any weather.
A comprehensive and versatile tool.
Specifications
Blade length: 8.5 cm
Material: Steel
Hardness: 55-57 HRC
Handle: glass-fiber reinforced polyamide
Safety ring: Virobloc
The stainless steel used for OPINEL blades is an optimized grade that guarantees both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.
The blade features excellent sharpness and high abrasion resistance (wear resistance), which allows it to withstand regular contact with hard materials such as ceramic before it needs to be resharpened. Stainless steel has the advantage that, unlike carbon steel, it does not require special maintenance under normal conditions of use. Nevertheless, it can reach its limits if it comes into contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergent, etc.) for a long period of time.
The knife handle is injection-molded from glass-fiber reinforced polyamide, which guarantees high resistance to impacts, water, and extreme temperatures (-40°C to +80°C). A pealess survival whistle is integrated into the end of the handle. It works in any weather, with a volume of 110 dB and a range of around 300 meters in open terrain.
The Virobloc safety ring was invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. It is present on all folding knives from model N°06 onwards. The Virobloc is cut from stainless steel and consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safe use), it is now also possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safe transport).
