All about Pocket knife No. 09 Inox
The N°09 is one of the first knives invented by Joseph Opinel in 1896. Just like the rest of the Tradition collection, its outstanding design has survived through the ages. The reliable and solid blade measures 9 cm and is made of stainless steel. It provides a high-quality cut and is highly resistant to corrosion. The beech wood used for the handle ensures solidity and comfort. This knife is suitable for any use and will always accompany hobbyists.
Features
Blade length: approx. 9 cm
Blade: Yatagan blade
Steel material: stainless steel
Hardness: 55-57 HRC. European origin
Safety ring: Virobloc
Handle: Beech
The traditional Opinel blade is called the Yatagan. Its shape is inspired by a Turkish saber with a raised tip. The blade is ground to an exclusive convex profile, ensuring robustness and easy sharpening.
The Virobloc safety ring was invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. It is present on all folding knives from model N°06 onwards. The Virobloc is cut from stainless steel and consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safe use), it is now also possible to lock the blade in the closed position (safe transport).
