Swiss Army zip-neck shirt - Layer 2

The original of the Swiss Army - the latest version of the popular "Gnägi"! Long-sleeved turtleneck shirt with a stand-up collar and front zipper. The zipper is backed and equipped with a "zipper garage." Functionally optimized cut with an extended back section to protect the kidneys, and flatlock seams. Double-layer knit construction, for which the finest, most diverse polyester yarns were used for the fluffy fleece inside. Perfect moisture transport from the inside out for a guaranteed dry body, very good thermal insulation, and pilling-free are just a few of the outstanding features. Thanks to the use of silver ions in the functional fiber, odor formation is prevented. Material: 74% PES, 26% PBT, Trevira Xpand, Bioactive, machine washable, very easy to care for.

Layer 1 - The Underwear

The first layer (Layer 1) optimally regulates the body's climate during the active phase. No shivering during the rest phase, thanks to the optimal re-drying time. Layer 1 must always be worn directly on the skin and forms the basis for optimal body climate regulation.

Layer 2 - The Insulation Layer
The insulation layer provides ideal warmth
Layer 2 supports climate regulation in cooler environmental conditions and guarantees an additional thermal buffer during the rest phase, without creating an unwanted and uncomfortable heat accumulation effect during active phases.

Layer 3 - The Climate Barrier
The climate barrier creates an optimal climate
Layer 3 is an efficient moisture valve. Due to its hydrophilic (water-absorbing) inside and its hydrophobic (water-repellent) outside, there is no backflow of water condensate, and the skin remains climate-regulated.

This arguably most modern and unique layer clothing system was developed as a research project by armasuisse (the procurement agency of the Swiss Army) in close cooperation with Christian Eschler AG at Empa St. Gallen and tested under the harshest conditions.
Controlled body climate regulation is the secret! The functional clothing system keeps you dry and warm during rest phases and cools optimally during physical activity. Since excess heat and moisture can be released to the environment very effectively, the clothing offers maximum well-being even during great physical exertion. Thanks to the use of silver in the functional fiber, odor formation is prevented.
